The FIRST LEGO League Explore season culminates with Festivals (formerly called Expos), where students share what they’ve learned with volunteers, friends, and family, and showcase their team models and posters. Festival event dates in North Texas for the 2020-2021 season will run February 2021 thru June 2021.

FIRST LEGO League Explore Festival events for this season may include physical, remote, and a combination of physical and remote elements. In order to be eligible to register for a local Festival event, teams must already be registered for the current 2020-2021 season with FIRST national and know their assigned 5-digit team number.

To register for Festival events in North Texas, there is a registration fee of $60 per team, per Festival event. Teams will register through the DFW Technology & Education Council, the program delivery partner in North Texas for FIRST LEGO League Explore.


At a Festival event, FIRST® LEGO®League Explore teams will each get the opportunity to meet with 6-10 different Reviewers. Each Reviewer will spend 5 minutes with each team. This session is an opportunity for your team to tell about all they have done during the PLAYMAKER season. Teams do not need to have a pre-planned presentation. Reviewers will be asking team members questions about their Model, Show-Me-Poster, Research and Core Values. At each Festival, all team members will receive a participation medal and 5-10 team awards will be presented. The number of team awards given will be determined by the total number of teams participating in the Festival. Below is a sample of the reviewer questions and the list of award categories:
